Ost Mountain Fest is the first large-scale festival in Romania, which brings on stage underground music at the bottom of Caraimanului Mountain, over 20 rock bands from Romania and abroad.
Between 6 and 8 of August 2010, the big glade of Cerbului Valley will resonate of death, thrash, doom, gothic, black, viking metal and the sound of Chopper Academy's motorcycles. Meanwhile, volunteers from MaiMultVerde Association will teach us to collect household waste and to sort it.
The festival will become a national brand over time and through the attending foreign bands and fans, Busteni area will be promoted abroad, while becoming a major attraction for both foreign and romanian tourists.
OST Group International was founded about a year ago. It's aim is to organize a large-scale socio-cultural event, which combines rock music with environmental messages, recreative activities and sports, in the middle of nature.
At the present time, Romania is the only country in Central and Eastern Europe that has no big scale underground rock music festival, countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic or Slovenia have such events for years.

Strategic Objectives:

  • Educating youth in the greening spirit and raising awareness to protect nature, the environment and to recycle

  • Promoting Busteni area, an area with a large, but unexploited tourism potential, both among Romanians and foreigners

  • Creating a brand for Romania, an unique social and cultural event, with many entertainment possibilities and an educational component, a well known international festival such as Wacken Open Air in Germany or the Czech Brutal Assault

  • Facilitating intercultural communication

  • Growth in terms of quantity and quality of the festival's program - recreational activities and entertainment - from one edition to another

  • Increasing popularity of motorcycling and archery as sports and entertainment activities

  • Promoting young bands or lesser known bands among rock listeners

  • Promoting rock music among general population, by attracting all the people through entertainment and educational activities

  • Increasing the confidence of rock music listeners in the quality of organizing concerts in Romania, given the failure of Rock City Open Air festival, which was supposed to take place in August 2009 at Fetesti, and other rock concerts

  • Promoting and supporting some valuable underground bands, other than the big names invited to perform this year in Romania (AC / DC, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Rammstein, etc.) and educating rock music listeners in order to accept and appreciate other bands than those intensely promoted by great financial resources, frequently promoted worldwide on a commercial basis

Last confirmed band for OST Mountain Fest

N.E.G.A.T.I.V. is a thrash-metal band founded in the summer of 2006 when the five original members - Mosoia Mihai (rhythm / vocals), Iustin Petrescu (solo), Mihai Pascu (solo), Budana (bass) and Catalin Petrescu (drums), gathered and founded an ambitious project.

After Mihai Pascu and Budana left, the band began a new musical direction and the line-up changed until 2008, when Mateescu Matei (bass) joined the band. After this, they entered a period of withdrawn activity, time in which the demo material was composed and recorded in late 2009. This summer, the band promotes the demo material and prepares material for a full-length album.

Video about the festival's concept

As we have announced some time ago, Costin Chioreanu (Twilight13media) and part of OST Mountain Fest team took a trip to Busteni in order to make the first video about the festival. You can watch this video here.

What we have been doing lately

For a part of the OST Mountain Fest team, the weekend between 7th and 9th of May was a busy one. They went to Busteni to film the first video material about the festival, on the very spot on which the event will be held, the Big Glade of Deer Valley, Busteni.

The technical director was none other than Costin Chioreanu (Twilight13media), who filmed all Saturday through Busteni, to have sufficient working material.
Besides the discussions we had in The Big Glade, about how it will all look between 6 and 8 of August, we talked with the local authorities involved in creating the festival. The first interviewee was the director of programs of Busteni, Ion Vasilescu, who has given us a few minutes of his time. Then came Mr. Spurcaciu Constantin, the director of The Cultural Hall, without whom this event wouldnt be held in Busteni, and last but not least, the mayor Emanoil Savin. Though busy that day, he made time for us. Our partners from Chopper Academy were also in Busteni to make up all the details for the motorcycle activities, which will take place during the festival. Until Costin Chioreanu will finish editing the video, you can enjoy some pictures on the festival's MySpace page: Click here
